The protest, which is part of a statewide movement, has now entered its fifth consecutive day.

The striking advocates and deed writers have strongly opposed the government’s move to introduce an online registration mechanism under the proposed e-registration framework. Protesters claim that the new system effectively amounts to the privatization of registration services and could severely impact the livelihoods of thousands of professionals associated with the registration process.

According to the demonstrators, the implementation of e-registration would significantly reduce the role of advocates, document writers, and other stakeholders who have traditionally assisted citizens in property registration procedures. They argue that the move could lead to widespread unemployment within the sector.

Advocate Sohan Lal Sharma, speaking during the protest, stated that the proposed system represents a direct threat to their profession and employment opportunities. He emphasized that legal professionals and document writers have been serving the public for decades and should not be sidelined by a digital system that may ultimately eliminate their role.

On the other hand, the state government maintains that the initiative has been introduced to simplify, modernize, and increase transparency in the registration process. Under the Uttar Pradesh Online Document Registration Rules, 2024, the registration process is being facilitated through the “Prerna Software” platform.

The government argues that the new system will make document registration more accessible and citizen-friendly by enabling biometric verification, digital identity authentication, and online payment facilities. Officials believe that the digital transformation will reduce paperwork, improve efficiency, and minimize procedural delays.

Despite these assurances, protesting advocates remain firm in their opposition. They have made it clear that they will not resume work until the government withdraws or substantially revises the proposed e-registration policy.

As the strike enters its fifth day, property registrations and related services remain suspended across registry offices, causing inconvenience to citizens seeking registration of property documents and other legal transactions.

With both sides standing by their respective positions, the dispute continues to affect public services, while stakeholders await further discussions between the government and representatives of the legal fraternity.

Registry office operations in Mathura remain suspended as advocates and document writers continue their fifth-day strike against the Uttar Pradesh government’s proposed e-registration system.

[41
978,974,977,973,976,979,980,975
post-3371","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-mathura-local-news","tag-document-writers-protest","tag-e-registration-protest","tag-mathura-lawyers-strike","tag-mathura-registry-office-strike","tag-prerna-software","tag-property-registration-up","tag-registry-office-news-mathura","tag-uttar-pradesh-online-document-registration-rules-2024
["GET
