Mathura Administration Seals Coaching Centres, Libraries, Hotel and Restaurant in Fire Safety Drive<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Mathura:<\/strong> Acting on the directions of District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh, the district administration carried out a large-scale surprise inspection of coaching institutes, libraries, restaurants and hotels across key commercial areas of Mathura on June 23. The joint enforcement drive focused on checking compliance with fire safety regulations, emergency evacuation arrangements and mandatory No Objection Certificates (NOCs).<\/p>\n

The inspection team was led by City Magistrate Anupam Kumar Mishra and included the Chief Fire Officer, officials from the Mathura Vrindavan Development Authority, the Housing Development Council and police personnel. The operation covered commercial establishments located around State Bank Chauraha, BSA College and Bhuteshwar Chauraha.<\/p>\n

During the inspection, officials thoroughly examined fire safety installations, emergency exit arrangements and statutory approvals. Authorities found that several coaching institutes were operating without valid Fire Department NOCs, while some buildings had emergency exits that were either blocked or too narrow to allow safe evacuation during an emergency.<\/p>\n

Considering the seriousness of these deficiencies, the City Magistrate ordered immediate sealing action against six coaching institutes and four libraries. The sealing process was carried out on the spot to prevent further operation until compliance with safety norms is ensured.<\/p>\n

The enforcement team also inspected hotels and restaurants operating in the same areas. One hotel and one restaurant were sealed after officials found significant shortcomings related to fire safety, security measures and mandatory approvals. Several other commercial establishments were served show-cause notices directing them to explain the observed deficiencies and take corrective measures within the stipulated time.<\/p>\n

Officials reiterated that compliance with fire safety standards is mandatory for every commercial establishment operating in the district. Business owners were instructed to install and maintain prescribed fire protection equipment, ensure unobstructed emergency exits and obtain all required NOCs before continuing operations.<\/p>\n

The administration stated that these inspections are part of an ongoing effort to strengthen public safety and reduce the risk of accidents in crowded commercial buildings. Authorities emphasized that educational institutions, libraries, hotels and restaurants often witness high public footfall, making strict adherence to safety regulations essential.<\/p>\n

During the drive, officers appealed to all operators of commercial establishments across Mathura district to voluntarily review their fire safety infrastructure and statutory compliance. They were advised to complete all pending safety measures and obtain the necessary clearances before operating their premises.<\/p>\n

The district administration indicated that similar inspection drives will continue in the coming days to ensure wider compliance across the city.
