72 Blood Donors Participate in Mega Health Awareness Event on World Blood Donor Day in Raipur

Raipur, June 14, 2026: A grand health awareness programme was organized at Oxyzone Garden, Raipur, on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day under the joint aegis of the District Unit of Akhil Bharatiya Agrawal Sammelan and the Raipur Welfare Foundation Society.

The event brought together citizens, healthcare professionals, social workers, and volunteers with a common objective—promoting a healthier society through awareness, preventive healthcare, and voluntary blood donation.

Zumba Session Promotes Healthy Living

The programme began with an energetic Zumba session that witnessed participation from nearly 1,500 people. Participants enthusiastically joined the mass fitness activity, spreading the message of “Stay Healthy, Stay Happy”.

The session highlighted the importance of regular physical activity and encouraged people of all age groups to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

500 Citizens Benefit from Free Health Check-Up Camp

A free medical check-up camp was also organized as part of the event.

Approximately 500 people availed themselves of health screening services, including blood sugar testing, blood pressure monitoring, weight assessment, and consultations with medical experts.

The initiative aimed to encourage preventive healthcare and early diagnosis of common health conditions.

72 Voluntary Blood Donors Set an Example

The blood donation camp emerged as one of the major highlights of the programme.

A total of 72 voluntary blood donors came forward to donate blood, demonstrating the spirit of humanity and social responsibility.

Organizers emphasized that a single unit of donated blood has the potential to save up to three lives, making blood donation one of the most valuable contributions a healthy individual can make to society.

Breast Cancer Awareness Session Conducted

The event also featured a special awareness session on breast cancer.

A team of doctors from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College provided detailed information about breast cancer symptoms, screening methods, early detection, and preventive measures.

Women attending the programme were also educated about the importance of self-examination and regular health check-ups for early diagnosis.
