Mathura Opens Applications for Vishwakarma Scheme
Mathura, July 2: The District Industries Promotion and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (DIC), Mathura, has invited online applications under the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana. The scheme aims to strengthen the skills of traditional artisans in both urban and rural areas by providing free training, modern toolkits and access to government-backed financial assistance.
Deputy Commissioner (Industries) Chandrabhan Singh said eligible applicants can submit online applications through the official MSME Uttar Pradesh portal. The programme is intended to help artisans upgrade their skills and improve self-employment opportunities.
Training and Benefits
Selected applicants will undergo a 10-day skill development training programme. After successful completion, beneficiaries will receive an advanced toolkit free of cost.
Those interested in expanding their business may also become eligible for loans under various state government schemes, including:
- Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan
- Chief Minister Yuva Swarozgar Yojana
- One District One Product (ODOP) Finance Scheme

Applications are currently being invited for several traditional trades, including:
- Mason (Rajmistri)
- Cobbler (Mochi)
- Potter (Kumhar)
- Other notified traditional artisan trades
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
- Applicant must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
- No minimum educational qualification is required.
- The applicant should not have received any government toolkit benefit during the previous two years.
- Only one member of a family (husband or wife) can avail the benefit under the scheme.
- An affidavit confirming eligibility conditions must be submitted.
- Eligibility is not restricted to any particular caste. Applicants belonging to other communities who are engaged in traditional artisan work are also eligible, provided they submit a certificate issued by the Gram Pradhan, Nagar Panchayat Chairperson, Municipality or Municipal Corporation confirming their traditional occupation.
