Mathura Gears Up for Grand Agrasen Jayanti Mahotsav 2026 Preparations Underway

Mathura, September 10, 2026: The city of Mathura is preparing for the upcoming Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti Mahotsav with great enthusiasm. The Sri Agarwal Sabha (registered) recently held a significant general body meeting at Agra Vatika, where community members gathered to finalize plans and approve several key proposals for the festival. With over 400 members in attendance, the meeting focused on ensuring that this year’s celebrations reach a new level of grandeur. The festival, which celebrates the legacy and principles of Maharaja Agrasen, is scheduled to take place from October 8 to October 15, bringing together the local Agarwal community for a week of cultural and social engagement.

Detailed Schedule and Festival Highlights

The week-long festival will feature a series of events, with the highlight being the grand procession, or Shobhayatra, scheduled for October 12. The procession will commence from Champa Agarwal Inter College and traverse through the city’s major routes before concluding at the Tilak Dwar Agarwal Dharamshala. Following the procession, a celebratory community dinner will be hosted at the Apsara Palace, located near Holigate. Pramod Agarwal Kasere, known as the ‘Jalpurush’, will serve as the host for this gala banquet. Furthermore, a large-scale fair will be organized on October 13, 14, and 15, providing a platform for local vendors and families to participate in the festivities.

Procession Participants and Selection Process

A key attraction of the Shobhayatra will be the portrayal of Maharaja Agrasen, who will be represented by Govardhan Das Mukut Wale. Organizers have also announced plans to select 18 ‘Rajkumars’ to be part of the royal procession. Interested candidates can obtain application forms at designated locations across the city starting from September 10, with the deadline for submission set for September 15. The final selection of these 18 participants will be conducted through a lottery draw on September 22 at 4:00 PM at Agra Vatika. Subhash Agarwal Sikka, the Prime Minister of the organization, emphasized the importance of community involvement in these processes to maintain the spirit of unity.

Community Leadership and Organizational Commitment

The meeting saw the formal approval of various coordinators tasked with overseeing different segments of the festival. Key appointments include Kishor Mittal as the Chief Jayanti Coordinator, Ankit Bansal as the Mela Coordinator, and Rohit Eta as the Shobhayatra Coordinator. Financial aspects are being managed by Riman Lal Gupta, who serves as the subscription coordinator. The women’s wing is also playing an active role, with Asha Agarwal and Meera Agarwal appointed as female coordinators, and Renu Agarwal serving as the President of the women’s group, supported by Secretary Shashi Agarwal. Chief Election Officer Jayanti Prasad Agarwal urged all members of the community to participate in the events with their families to strengthen social bonds. In his closing remarks, President Ashok Bansal Sarraf thanked all attendees for their dedication to the organization’s goals, setting the stage for what promises to be a memorable and well-organized celebration in the heart of Mathura.
