24-Hour Medical Stores to Serve Pilgrims During Govardhan Mudiya Mela

Govardhan: The Drug Department has intensified preparations for the upcoming Govardhan Mudiya Purnima Mela, with selected medical stores set to remain open round the clock to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services for lakhs of pilgrims expected during the annual religious gathering.

According to officials, nearly 15 to 20 medical stores, including Braj Medical Store and other pharmacies located across Govardhan, Radha Kund and Jatipura, will remain operational 24 hours a day from 23 July to 30 July.

Drug Inspector Holds Meeting with Pharmacy Owners

Drug Inspector Prem Pathak chaired a meeting with medical store operators at a guest house on the Govardhan–Radha Kund Road to review arrangements for the fair.

During the meeting, pharmacy owners were instructed to ensure that only genuine, high-quality medicines are stocked and sold so that pilgrims receive safe and reliable medical treatment throughout the festival period.

Emergency Medicines Must Remain Available

The Drug Department directed all participating medical stores to maintain sufficient stocks of emergency medicines and essential healthcare products to meet the increased demand during the Mudiya Mela.

Shop owners were also advised to maintain cleanliness, provide prompt assistance to devotees and cooperate fully with the district administration during the event.

Focus on Pilgrim Convenience

Officials said the objective of the round-the-clock pharmacy service is to provide immediate medical assistance to pilgrims undertaking the sacred Govardhan Parikrama, especially during night hours when access to healthcare becomes more critical.

The administration has appealed to all pharmacy operators to extend their working hours wherever possible and contribute to the successful and safe conduct of the annual religious fair.

Administration Strengthens Mudiya Mela Preparations

With lakhs of devotees expected to visit Govardhan during the Mudiya Purnima Mela, the district administration is making coordinated arrangements across multiple departments to ensure smooth crowd management, healthcare, sanitation and public convenience.

The Drug Department stated that continuous monitoring will be carried out during the fair to ensure compliance with quality standards and uninterrupted availability of medicines for pilgrims.
