Barsana, September 25, 2026: In a grand celebration of faith and tradition, the Brajvasi Seva Samiti recently organized the Ladotsav program in the sacred town of Barsana. Following the observances of Radha Janmotsav, the event drew a large number of committee members who gathered to pay homage to Radha Rani. The day-long festivities saw members navigating the narrow lanes, sacred hills, and ancient ponds of Barsana, immersing themselves in the spirit of devotion that defines this holy region. Participants engaged in traditional parikrama, decorated the divine deities with exquisite flower displays, sang devotional songs, and performed sadhu seva, with the celebrations continuing late into the night.

Commencement and Devotional Rituals

The program officially began upon the arrival of the committee members at Barsana Dham. Founders and key office-bearers of the Brajvasi Seva Samiti—including founder Shashi Bhanu Vishakha Garg, president Mukesh Pinky Agarwal, and secretary Anoop Monika Agarwal—led the proceedings. The event opened with a formal puja and the offering of garlands to the divine forms of Radha and Krishna. Following these rituals, the committee members, accompanied by a traditional bhajan-kirtan troupe, embarked on the collective parikrama of Barsana. As they traversed the path, members offered prayers at various forests, gardens, ponds, and hills, pausing to learn about the spiritual significance of each location while chanting the name of Radha.

The Spirit of Ladotsav and Cultural Immersion

The highlight of the event was the decoration of the Jagmohan temple, where the divine forms of Radha and Krishna were adorned with flowers sourced from across the country and abroad. This “Phool Bangla” display served as the backdrop for a series of traditional “badhai” songs performed by prominent artists from the Braj region. Members were observed dancing and offering gifts as they rejoiced in the atmosphere of celebration. The festivities concluded with a significant act of service: under the guidance of local sadhus and saints, a session of sadhu seva and prasad distribution was organized. The committee members took pride in serving meals and offering dakshina to the saints, feeling a deep sense of fulfillment through these acts of service.

Preserving Heritage for Future Generations

Shashi Bhanu Garg, the founder of the committee, emphasized the importance of such cultural initiatives in today’s era. He explained that these events are essential to connect the younger generation with their ancient heritage. By bringing community members to these significant spiritual sites in Braj, the committee aims to showcase the cultural depth and religious importance of these locations. He noted that the Brajvasi Seva Samiti remains committed to organizing such programs regularly to ensure that the traditions of Braj continue to thrive and are passed down to future generations.
