Firozabad Court Awards Death Penalty in Aarav Murder Case Within 40 Days

A sessions court in Firozabad has sentenced the convicted accused to death in the widely discussed Aarav murder case. The verdict came within 40 days of the crime, following a fast-tracked investigation and trial.

Firozabad Court Awards Death Penalty in Aarav Murder Case Within 40 Days

A sessions court in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, has awarded the death penalty to Viraj alias Jitendra Pathak after convicting him in the widely discussed murder of one-and-a-half-year-old Aarav. The judgment, delivered just 40 days after the crime, is being regarded as a significant example of a fast-tracked criminal trial.

The verdict was pronounced after the court examined witness testimonies, scientific evidence and the prosecution’s case. The accused was found guilty of the brutal murder of the toddler in the Shikohabad area.

Incident That Shocked Uttar Pradesh

According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on 30 May 2026 in Yadav Colony, Shikohabad. Investigators alleged that Viraj alias Jitendra Pathak violently assaulted the one-and-a-half-year-old child by repeatedly throwing him onto the road, resulting in the child’s death.

The incident triggered widespread public outrage across Uttar Pradesh and received significant media attention due to its brutality.

Charge Sheet Filed Within Six Days

Considering the seriousness of the case, the police completed the investigation at an accelerated pace and submitted the charge sheet before the court within six days of the incident.

The sessions court conducted day-to-day proceedings, examined witnesses and reviewed scientific evidence before concluding the trial in approximately 40 days.

Court Sentences Convict to Death

After finding the evidence sufficient to establish guilt, the court convicted Viraj alias Jitendra Pathak and awarded the death penalty. The judgment is being viewed as an example of speedy justice in a high-profile criminal case.

Reaction Inside the Courtroom

According to information available after the verdict, the convicted accused became visibly distressed following the announcement of the sentence and reportedly began slapping himself inside the courtroom. Security personnel present at the court immediately took him into custody and escorted him out safely.

Family Welcomes the Verdict

Members of the victim’s family expressed satisfaction over the court’s decision and thanked the judiciary for delivering what they described as timely justice. The case had drawn widespread public attention, with many demanding strict punishment for the accused.
