The case, numbered 384/26, includes charges under sections 85, 109(1), 115(2), 352, and 351(3) of the BNS, as well as sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. Furthermore, following the recovery of a weapon, the police have added charges under sections 3/25/27 of the Arms Act to the case files.

Police Operation and Investigation

The operation to apprehend the suspect was led by the station house officer of Govind Nagar, Ajay Verma. The police team successfully intercepted the accused at the aforementioned location near Chakratirth Ghat. During the search, officers recovered a magazine for a pistol from the suspect’s possession, providing the basis for the additional charges related to the Arms Act. The accused, who resides in the Pushp Vihar Colony area of the district, is currently in custody as officials proceed with the necessary legal formalities required under the current investigation.

Involvement of Other Named Accused

The original FIR filed on September 15 lists four individuals in total, including the arrested suspect, Ramu, who is identified as the husband of the complainant. Other individuals named in the initial complaint include his mother, his father, Vijay Singh, and his brother, Omveer, all of whom are also residents of the Pushp Vihar Colony. While Ramu is now in police custody, the investigation into the roles of the other named individuals remains an active part of the administrative procedure handled by the Govind Nagar station staff.

The arrest team, which included Sub-Inspector Himanshi and constables Rampal Singh (badge number 1083) and Rahul (badge number 2826), remained on the scene following the capture of the suspect to finalize documentation.
