Mathura, September 18, 2026: Authorities in Mathura Police have successfully apprehended an individual suspected of involvement in an aerial firing incident that took place earlier this week in the Krishna Vihar Colony area. According to official police reports, the suspect was taken into custody during a routine patrol and investigation operation conducted by the Jamunapar police station team.
Details of the Arrest
The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Abhishek, alias Anil or Abshu, a resident of Roshan Vihar, was taken into custody in the early hours of September 18, 2026. Official sources confirmed that the arrest occurred at approximately 00:10 in a vacant plot situated behind the Roshan Vihar Colony. At the time of his apprehension, the Jamunapar police recovered one illegal country-made pistol, known locally as a tamancha, along with one live .315 bore cartridge from his possession.

These include charges related to the Arms Act, cases under sections 323, 504, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code, and charges under the U.P. Gangsters Act. Additionally, the suspect has previously been booked under the Gambling Act. Legal proceedings are currently underway in connection with this latest recovery and the initial firing incident.
Operations by the Police Team
The operation resulting in the arrest was conducted by a dedicated team from the Jamunapar police station. The team was led by the Station House Officer (SHO), Videsh Kumar. Other personnel involved in the field operation included Sub-Inspector Mithlesh Upadhyay, Head Constable 694 Teevra Kumar, and Constable 614 Rohit Kumar.
