Traders Mark Bhamashah Jayanti with Tree Plantation

Mathura: The Uttar Pradesh Udyog Vyapar Pratinidhi Mandal organised a tree plantation drive at the Dampier Nagar Park in Mathura on the occasion of Seth Bhamashah Jayanti, combining environmental awareness with a tribute to one of India’s most respected historical philanthropists. The programme highlighted the importance of preserving nature while remembering the ideals of selfless service, patriotism and social responsibility associated with Danveer Bhamashah.

The plantation campaign was organised as part of the celebrations marking Bhamashah Jayanti, which is also observed as Trader Welfare Day in Uttar Pradesh. Members of the traders’ body participated enthusiastically by planting saplings and encouraging citizens to contribute towards a greener and healthier environment.

Appeal for Environmental Conservation

Addressing the gathering, Jagbir Chaudhary, Pradhan of the organisation, said that protecting the environment is a shared responsibility and urged every citizen to plant at least one tree in the name of a loved one. He said such efforts would help maintain ecological balance, improve air quality and ensure a cleaner environment for future generations.

He emphasised that tree plantation is not merely a symbolic activity but a long-term commitment towards safeguarding nature. According to him, community participation in environmental initiatives is essential for creating a sustainable future.

Trader Welfare Day Recognised

Organisation president Ajay Chaturvedi thanked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for declaring Seth Bhamashah Jayanti as Trader Welfare Day. He said the decision fulfilled a long-standing demand of the trading community and reflected the government’s recognition of the contribution made by traders to society and the economy.

The event witnessed the participation of several senior office bearers and members of the Uttar Pradesh Udyog Vyapar Pratinidhi Mandal. Those present included General Secretary Rajesh Goyal, Mahesh Agarwal, Naresh Sharma ‘Babbu’, Akhilesh Kumar Mishra, Media In-charge and Spokesperson Karanveer Chaudhary, Sumit Chaudhary, Vimal Agarwal and several other prominent members of the traders’ fraternity.

The participants reaffirmed their commitment to carrying out similar public welfare programmes in the future, especially those related to environmental protection and community development. They also appealed to local residents to actively participate in plantation campaigns and help increase green cover across the city.
