Vrindavan, September 12, 2026: The holy town of Vrindavan is set to host a week-long celebration marking the 546th birth anniversary, or ‘Avirbhav Mahotsav’, of the esteemed Rasik saint and legendary music practitioner, Swami Haridas. The festival is scheduled to take place from September 13 to September 19, bringing together devotees, musicians, and scholars to honor the saint’s profound spiritual and musical legacy. According to organizers, the event will be held at the Radha Prasad Dham, located on the Gopal Khar Parikrama Marg, and is jointly organized by the Swami Haridasiya Rasopasana Peeth and the Swami Haridasiya Radha Prasad Seva Trust.

A Week of Devotion and Artistic Celebration

Mahant Mohini Bihari Sharan Maharaj announced that the seven-day celebration will feature a diverse array of religious, spiritual, and cultural programs designed to reflect the saint’s deep connection to devotional music and the path of ‘Rasopasana’. The festivities will commence on Sunday, September 13, with a grand ‘Maha-Abhishek’ of the saint’s idol at 8:00 AM. This will be followed by a vibrant ‘Shobhayatra’ (procession) at 9:00 AM, moving from Lalit Kunj to the main venue at Radha Prasad Dham. The inaugural day will conclude with a soul-stirring ‘Bhajan Sandhya‘ in the evening, setting a tone of devotion for the week ahead.

The cultural itinerary is particularly notable for its emphasis on the Dhrupad-Dhamar style of music, which was significantly shaped by Swami Haridas. On September 14, a dedicated music festival will showcase performances by artists arriving from across the country. September 15 will highlight local talent, featuring cultural presentations by children from Braj, alongside an evening of devotional singing. On September 16, the organizers have planned a unique ‘Pushp-Chayan’ ceremony, where the saint will be adorned with 546 lotus flowers, followed by an evening ‘Aarti’ dedicated to Yamuna Maharani, as explained by Swami Atul Krishna Maharaj.

Community Recognition and Closing Ceremonies

Recognizing excellence in service and the arts remains a cornerstone of the festival’s mission. On September 17, the trust will host an awards ceremony to honor social workers, religious organizations, artists, and literary figures who have contributed significantly to their respective fields. This event underscores the organizers’ intent to bridge the gap between traditional spiritual values and contemporary service to society. Ramkishan Agarwal emphasized that these gatherings serve as a vital link for devotees to find guidance in the presence of saints and realized souls who will be attending the proceedings.

As the festival moves toward its conclusion, September 18 will be dedicated to a series of religious and cultural programs starting from 10:00 AM. The final day, September 19, will mark the culmination of the 546th Avirbhav Mahotsav with specialized spiritual rituals, a final ‘Maha-Abhishek’, and a ‘Vishal Bhandara’ (community feast) that is expected to draw a large number of pilgrims and locals alike. Key contributors to the planning process, including Vikas Agarwal, Acharya Anmol Krishna Shastri, Pradeep Agarwal, Manoj, Purushottam, Acharya Dhruv, Brijmohan Agarwal, Rahul Agarwal, and Prakhar Agarwal, have been working in coordination to ensure the smooth conduct of these events in the heart of Braj.
