Mathura DM Orders Weekly Cleanliness Drive in Government Offices

Mathura, June 15, 2026: District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh has directed all government offices across Mathura district to ensure regular cleanliness and proper maintenance of their workplaces. In an official communication issued on June 15, the District Magistrate emphasized that a clean and organized office environment reflects administrative efficiency and contributes to a positive public image.

Addressing all heads of departments and office in-charges of Central and Uttar Pradesh Government offices in the district, the DM stated that government employees spend a significant portion of their day in office premises. Therefore, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in offices should be considered a collective responsibility.

Special Weekly Cleanliness Campaign Every Saturday

To strengthen cleanliness efforts, the District Magistrate has instructed all offices to conduct a one-hour special cleanliness campaign every Saturday. The initiative aims to keep government offices neat, organized, and citizen-friendly.

The order highlights that regular cleaning not only improves the working environment but also enhances the public perception of government departments.

Key Instructions Issued by the District Magistrate

  • Ensure regular cleaning of office rooms, corridors, and surrounding premises.
  • Maintain proper arrangement of files, records, office equipment, furniture, and cupboards.
  • Dispose of obsolete and unusable materials periodically.
  • Use dustbins properly and prevent littering anywhere within office premises.
  • Pay special attention to cleanliness of washrooms and drinking water facilities.
  • Maintain green areas and ensure proper care of plants and landscaping within office compounds.

Officers Asked to Lead by Example

The District Magistrate has appealed to all senior officers to personally monitor cleanliness efforts and encourage their subordinate staff to participate actively in the campaign.

He noted that a clean, well-maintained, and organized office not only improves workplace productivity but also strengthens the credibility and image of public institutions.

All department heads have been requested to ensure full compliance with the directions and make cleanliness a regular part of office administration across Mathura district.
