Mathura, September 29, 2026: A local court in Mathura has handed down a life sentence to a man convicted of murder, marking a significant legal outcome under the Uttar Pradesh government’s ongoing “Operation Conviction” initiative. Legal Proceedings and Verdict

The case, which dates back to 2020, involved the murder of the complainant’s husband by gunshot. According to official sources, the prosecution built a robust case through the coordinated efforts of the Mathura police and the public prosecutor. Furthermore, in a related legal development during the same session, the court addressed charges filed against the same individual under the Arms Act. In case number 194/2020, pertaining to sections 25/27 of the Arms Act, the court sentenced Satish to an additional seven years of rigorous imprisonment and ordered a fine of 10000/- रुपये. This separate conviction was based on the recovery of the weapon used in the crime.

Operation Conviction Implementation

The “Operation Conviction” campaign is a statewide initiative directed by the Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh, aimed at ensuring swift justice in heinous crimes through effective legal advocacy and quality investigation. Officials stated that the process was subject to continuous review and guidance from the Additional Director General of Police, Agra Zone, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Agra Range, and the Senior Superintendent of Police, Mathura.

The successful prosecution was attributed to the meticulous investigation and high-quality evidence management conducted by the local police teams. Legal experts involved in the case included ADGC Narendra Kumar Sharma, who represented the state. The investigation and legal support were managed by former investigating officers Sanjeev Kumar Dubey and Sub-Inspector Dharmendra Singh, along with Head Constable 837 Sajid Siddiqui, who served as the ‘pairokar’ or court liaison officer for Kotwali police station.
