Vrindavan, September 24, 2026: Vrindavan police have taken a 21-year-old man into custody after he was found in possession of an illegal knife on the evening of September 23, 2026. The arrest occurred near the lane adjacent to the ISKCON gaushala in Vrindavan, according to local police reports.
Details of the Arrest
The suspect, identified as Ravi, is a resident of Nari Semri village under the jurisdiction of the Chhata police station in Mathura district. Authorities reported that the arrest was executed by the local police team at approximately 9:30 p.m. on September 23, 2026. Following the recovery of the weapon, police registered a case against the accused under Section 4/25 of the Arms Act, documented as case number 644/2026 at the Vrindavan police station.

Extensive Criminal Record
Official records indicate that Ravi has a substantial criminal history involving multiple charges. Before this latest incident, he had already been named in 18 previous cases, primarily related to the Arms Act, the NDPS Act, and various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Indian Penal Code. His prior offenses include multiple counts of possessing illegal arms, drug-related charges under the NDPS Act, excise act violations, and theft-related cases dating back several years. Law enforcement officials confirmed that this arrest is part of their ongoing efforts to maintain security in the Vrindavan area by apprehending individuals with extensive criminal records.

The operation to detain the suspect was conducted by a team led by Inspector Dharmendra Kumar, the officer in charge of the Vrindavan police station. Other key members of the team included Sub-Inspector Shubhanshu Yadav, the in-charge of the Ramanreti police outpost, and Constable Saurabh Verma (Badge number 459). The police have stated that standard legal procedures have been followed, and the accused will be processed according to the law.
