Radha Kelikunj Ashram Under Scrutiny Following Death and Missing Person Allegations
Authorities are investigating the death of a resident at Sri Hit Radha Kelikunj Ashram and a separate missing person case involving a family from Hathras.

Vrindavan, October 3, 2026: Vrindavan’s Sri Hit Radha Kelikunj ashram is currently the center of significant public and administrative scrutiny following two separate incidents that have raised serious concerns among families regarding the safety and communication protocols within the institution. The facility, which is a known center for spiritual seekers, is currently dealing with an ongoing police investigation into the death of one of its residents, while simultaneously facing fresh allegations regarding a missing youth from Hathras.
Investigation into the Death of Rasik Dulari Sharan
The first incident occurred on the morning of September 25, when 25-year-old Deepak Lodhi, who had been living a monastic life under the name Rasik Dulari Sharan, died after falling from a four-story building in the Barah Ghat area, identified by local sources as Guru Kripa Kunj. Local law enforcement officials have confirmed that they are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the fall. As part of the procedural forensic inquiry, police have analyzed CCTV footage from the premises to piece together the events of that morning. Furthermore, investigators recovered a grinder from the deceased’s room, which has been submitted for laboratory analysis to determine if it holds any relevance to the case. The final determination remains subject to the results of the post-mortem report and the ongoing police investigation, as the family of the deceased has raised pointed questions regarding the lack of transparency and contact during his time at the ashram.

Compounding the tension at the ashram, a family from the Sadabad region of Hathras initiated a public demonstration outside the gates on October 2, demanding information about their son, Anuj Chaudhary. The family alleges that Anuj had traveled to Vrindavan approximately three months ago to join the ashram, but they have had no direct contact with him since his arrival. The family reported that repeated attempts to locate him or receive a status update from the management were met with insufficient responses, prompting them to take to the streets to seek administrative intervention. Following the protest, local police intervened to mediate the situation and engage with both the family and the institution’s representatives. According to the available reports, the police have requested a three-day window to locate Anuj and provide the family with a definitive update on his status. While varying reports have circulated regarding his whereabouts, official confirmation remains pending.
Changes to Ashram Operations and Future Oversight
In response to these unfolding crises, the management of Sri Hit Radha Kelikunj has announced a temporary suspension of all initiation programs. Additionally, the ashram has reportedly halted its token-based darshan system, effectively restricting public access to the premises while the investigations proceed. These events have sparked a wider community dialogue regarding the operational transparency of ashrams in the region and the mechanisms in place for maintaining contact between resident sadhaks and their relatives. As the district administration and police continue their inquiries, the focus remains on whether established protocols for spiritual institutions are being followed effectively. MathuraNow continues to monitor these developments closely and will provide updates as official information is released by the relevant authorities regarding the progress of the investigations.
