Young Trader Found Dead in Yamuna River; Wave of Grief Sweeps Raya

Mathura, June 17: A young trader from Raya town was found dead in the Yamuna River on Wednesday morning, a day after he reportedly went missing from his home. The incident has left family members, friends, and local traders in deep shock, while a wave of grief has spread across the town.

According to local residents, Manoj Agarwal, popularly known as Monu Agarwal, son of Shyam Sundar Agarwal, operated a mobile phone shop in the Syndicate Bank Lane area of Raya.

Family members said that Monu left home on Tuesday evening without informing anyone. He had reportedly left his mobile phone at home before leaving. When he did not return for several hours, relatives and friends began searching for him at possible locations and among acquaintances, but no information about his whereabouts could be found throughout the night.

On Wednesday morning, family members received information that a body had been spotted in the Yamuna River under the jurisdiction of the Jamunapar police area. Relatives reached the location and identified the deceased as Manoj Agarwal.

Police officials arrived at the scene and took possession of the body. The body was later sent for post-mortem examination, and further investigation is underway.

Town Mourns the Loss

The sudden death of the young trader has deeply saddened residents and members of the local business community. Several prominent citizens and traders gathered to offer condolences to the bereaved family.

Among those who visited the family were Chairman Rajkumar Agarwal, former Chairman Rakesh Sharma, Krishnakant Agarwal, Bhupesh Agarwal, Pawan Agarwal, Chandraprakash Agarwal, Praveen Agarwal, and other local residents.

As a mark of respect, several business establishments along Sadabad Road remained closed for some time, and traders expressed their condolences over the tragic incident.

Community Event Cancelled

Organizers also announced the cancellation of a community feast (Bhandara) that was scheduled to be held on Wednesday on Sadabad Road to mark the conclusion of the monthly Braj Chaurasi Kos Parikrama service fortnight. The event was called off following the news of the trader’s death.

Police officials stated that the matter is under investigation and that further details will emerge after completion of the post-mortem examination and inquiry process.
