Mathura Police Expose Staged 6 Lakh Rupee Robbery in Raya
Mathura police have arrested two Aligarh residents for staging a fake 6 lakh rupee robbery. The entire amount was recovered following a police investigation.

Raya, October 4, 2026: Authorities in Mathura have successfully exposed a fabricated robbery case after police determined that a reported incident involving 6 lakh rupees was entirely staged. Two individuals, identified as Kuldeep Singh and Ajeet, both residents of Aligarh, were taken into custody following an investigation by the local police force. The operation, which aimed to reclaim the misappropriated funds, concluded with the full recovery of the 6 lakh rupees.
Investigation Reveals Elaborate Plot
According to SP Crime Shweta Yadav, the incident was initially reported to the police on October 1. The complainant in the case, identified as Pushpender, who had been residing in Noida, had reportedly entrusted the money to the suspects. SP Crime Shweta Yadav explained that Pushpender deposited the funds into the bank account of Kuldeep Singh. The suspects then allegedly hatched a plan to stage a robbery to misappropriate the money for themselves. The scheme was carefully orchestrated, involving the withdrawal of the cash followed by a trip to the Mathura area to execute the deception.

During the press conference held at the Police Station Raya, officers detailed the lengths to which the suspects went to provide a sense of authenticity to their false report. Upon arriving in Mathura, Kuldeep Singh contacted the police to claim that he had been a victim of a robbery. To make the narrative appear credible to investigators, the suspects reportedly damaged a motorcycle and discarded an empty bag, creating a physical scene of a struggle. However, the responding officers quickly grew suspicious of the details provided by the men during the initial inquiry.
Suspects’ Background and Police Response
SP Crime Shweta Yadav noted during the briefing that Kuldeep Singh had served as an agent and possessed a history of similar professional activities, which raised red flags during the investigation. As officers probed further into the inconsistencies of the account, the plot began to unravel. The suspects, who were presented before the media alongside the recovered funds, were held at Police Station Raya as part of the legal proceedings. The police investigation eventually confirmed that the robbery complaint was entirely fraudulent.
Status of the Case
The recovered 6 lakh rupees, which were displayed in clear plastic bags during the press conference, have been seized as part of the evidence. Legal action has been initiated against both Kuldeep Singh and Ajeet for their involvement in the conspiracy. The success of the operation reflects the vigilance of the local police, who were able to look past the staged crime scene and identify the true nature of the event. The case highlights the effectiveness of the interrogation process in handling complex cases of fraud within the district. All evidence and suspect testimonies are currently being processed as the case moves forward in the local legal system.
