Farah, September 14, 2026: A violent confrontation between two friends in the Farah police station area resulted in a shooting on Monday afternoon, leading to the arrest of the accused by the local authorities. The incident, which reportedly stemmed from a long-standing financial dispute, occurred near a temple located on the canal of village Sanaura, situated on the Parakham Road within the jurisdiction of village Nagla Phusia. Upon receiving the call, a police team was immediately dispatched to the site, where they took the accused into custody. The victim, identified as Shivkumar, a resident of village Devseras in Govardhan, was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical intervention and remains under the care of doctors.

During police questioning, the accused, identified as Aryan, revealed that the motive for the attack was a debt of 28,000 rupees. Aryan claimed that Shivkumar had borrowed this sum from him three years ago. According to the accused’s statement, when he met Shivkumar on Monday to demand the repayment of the loan, the victim allegedly responded with verbal abuse directed at both the accused and his sister. Driven by sudden anger, Aryan reportedly retrieved his weapon and fired at Shivkumar.

A senior police officer, identified as Mukul Dwivedi, provided a formal update on the ongoing investigation. Speaking from the police office, Officer Dwivedi confirmed that the shooting occurred within the Farah police station area and that the accused had voluntarily reported the crime to the police shortly after firing the shot. He further noted that the victim, who suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, is currently receiving medical treatment. The police have registered the incident and are actively questioning the accused to verify the details surrounding the financial conflict. The authorities have maintained that they are thoroughly investigating the circumstances, including how the weapon was procured and the nature of the alleged verbal altercation that preceded the shooting. The accused remains in police custody as the investigation proceeds under local regulations.
