Mathura Civic Body Engages Influencers to Propel Braj Vaibhav Sanitation Drive
Mathura Municipal Corporation partners with local influencers to promote sanitation and heritage conservation under the Braj Vaibhav Abhiyan campaign.

Mathura, August 29, 2026: The Mathura Municipal Corporation is strategically leveraging the digital influence of local content creators to bolster its ongoing sanitation and environmental preservation efforts. Under the banner of the Braj Vaibhav Abhiyan, municipal authorities are aiming to transform the city’s approach to cleanliness by tapping into the widespread reach and engagement capabilities of social media personalities. This collaborative initiative was formally set in motion during a meeting held at the Municipal Corporation Auditorium this past Friday, presided over by Municipal Commissioner Ojasvi Raj.
Mobilizing Digital Voices for Civic Progress
Addressing a gathering of more than 50 local influencers, Commissioner Raj emphasized the unique position these individuals hold in shaping public perception and community habits. He urged participants to use their platforms to champion the cause of environmental conservation, responsible waste disposal, and the protection of Mathura’s historic cultural identity. The core of this outreach is to ensure that the message of the Braj Vaibhav Abhiyan permeates through various digital channels, encouraging residents to take ownership of their local surroundings. By sharing routine awareness activities and advocating for a cleaner city, these influencers are expected to act as vital conduits between the administration and the public.

Ongoing Efforts and Structural Improvements
Nishant Sharma, representing the Heartfulness Foundation, provided a comprehensive overview of the current initiatives driving the campaign. The foundation is currently focused on the restoration and beautification of 12 sacred water bodies, or kunds, which are integral to the region’s heritage. Furthermore, their ongoing efforts include advanced water treatment processes and significant tree plantation drives along the slopes of Goverdhan Hill. These actions are supported by a steady influx of volunteers who travel from various cities every Sunday specifically to participate in organized sanitation drives, illustrating a broad-based commitment to the region’s environmental health.
As Mathura prepares for the high-traffic Janmashtami festival, the administration is focusing on preventive measures to maintain hygiene during large-scale public gatherings. Vipul Agrawal, a representative from Project Mathura, highlighted the necessity of developing a formal Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the various community feasts, or bhandaras, held during the festivities. The proposal aims to ensure that food distribution and waste management are conducted in a highly disciplined and hygienic environment, preventing the localized sanitation issues often associated with large crowds.
Streamlining Civic Complaints
In a move to modernize administrative response times, Commissioner Ojasvi Raj announced the upcoming launch of a single-window grievance system. This digital framework is designed to empower citizens to report sanitation lapses directly to the authorities by simply uploading photographs of garbage piles or neglected areas. Once a complaint is filed, a dedicated municipal response team will be tasked with reaching the specific site and restoring cleanliness within a strict two-hour window. The Commissioner reiterated that these structural changes are part of a broader vision to elevate Mathura’s civic standards to a level comparable to the nation’s top-ranked clean cities, such as Indore. The influencers in attendance expressed their full support for these initiatives, pledging to amplify the administration’s directives and encourage citizen participation through their respective digital footprints, ensuring that the message of a cleaner, more sustainable Braj reaches every corner of the community.
