The theft, which involved gold valued at approximately Rs 12 crore, occurred between 7:30 p.m. on September 13, 2026, and 10 a.m. the following day, September 14. Following an intensive investigation, authorities apprehended the suspects on September 15, 2026, at 12:59 p.m. in the Gopalbagh area of Kosi Kalan.

Investigation and Law Enforcement Response

The severity of the incident, involving a loss estimated at Rs 12 crore, drew immediate attention from senior police officials. The DIG of Agra and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Mathura district personally reached the crime scene to oversee the investigation and provide strategic direction. A joint effort involving the Mathura police, the Special Task Force (STF) of Agra, and the SOG team was established to track down the perpetrators. The case has been registered at the Kosi Kalan police station under FIR number 619/2026, invoking sections 331(4) and 305 of the BNS.

Collaborative Police Effort

The operation involved a wide network of local law enforcement officers who conducted thorough searches and coordinated their efforts to ensure the successful recovery of the stolen goods. Key personnel involved in the investigation included Superintendent of Police (Rural) Suresh Chand Rawat, Additional Superintendent of Police Rakesh Yadav of the STF Agra unit, and Circle Officer of Chhata, Bhushan Verma. Local station leadership, including Kosi Kalan SHO Kamlesh Singh, Shergarh SHO Ajay Kishore, and Jait SHO Sonu Besla, provided essential support.
