Mathura Traders Body Forms Ghiya Mandi Committee, Ajay Khandelwal Elected President

Mathura, July 14: The Nagar Udyog Vyapar Pratinidhi Mandal has continued its organisational expansion across the city by constituting the Ghiya Mandi Vyavasayi Samiti. During a meeting attended by a large number of local traders, Ajay Khandelwal was unanimously elected as President, while Dharmveer Agrawal was chosen as General Secretary. The newly elected office-bearers were welcomed with flower garlands by fellow traders.
The meeting was held at Jain Dharamshala in Chowk Bazaar under the chairmanship of senior trader Balmukund Agrawal (Churan Wale). Senior office-bearers of the Nagar Udyog Vyapar Pratinidhi Mandal, including City President Sunil Agrawal, General Secretary Shashi Bhanu Garg, Joint General Secretary Shribhagwan Chaturvedi, and Senior Minister Vikas Jindal, were present during the election process.
Complete Executive Committee Announced
The newly constituted committee was elected unanimously. Along with President Ajay Khandelwal, the following office-bearers were appointed:
- Vice Presidents: Shailendra Sharma (Hakim), Govind Agrawal (Tent), Balmukund Agrawal (Churan), Pankaj Garg (Press), Ashok Agrawal (Namak Wale), Sanjay Khandelwal (Medical) and Mukesh Sharma.
- General Secretary: Dharmveer Agrawal.
- Joint General Secretary: Basant Khandelwal.
- Ministers: Sanjay Sharma (Photo), Manoj Agrawal (Kadhai), Kanhaiya Lal Agrawal (Paint), Ajay Gupta (Readymade) and Amit Khandelwal (Pattal Wale).
- Treasurer: Jitendra Agrawal (Bartan Wale).
- Publicity Minister: Ashish Agrawal (Kapde Wale).
Organisation Targets 25,000 Traders Across Mathura
Addressing the gathering, City President Sunil Agrawal and General Secretary Shashi Bhanu Garg said the organisation is strengthening its network by forming market-wise business committees throughout Mathura. According to the office-bearers, nearly 10,000 traders have already been associated with the organisation.
They said the committee formation process has now been extended to outer areas of the city, with the objective of expanding representation across all markets, malls and commercial establishments. Responsibilities have been assigned to city office-bearers, and the organisation aims to connect approximately 25,000 traders under the Nagar Udyog Vyapar Pratinidhi Mandal in the coming months.

Focus on Traders’ Welfare and Protection
Joint General Secretary Shribhagwan Chaturvedi and Senior Minister Vikas Jindal said the organisation remains committed to addressing the concerns of traders. They stated that the formation of the Ghiya Mandi committee further strengthens the organisation’s presence in the city.
They also asserted that the organisation would not tolerate any form of harassment of traders by any department or individual. A proposal to establish a city-level mobile traders’ assistance team is also under consideration to provide timely support in business-related matters.
Local Issues Discussed During Meeting
During the meeting, traders highlighted several local issues before the city office-bearers. Newly elected committee members and senior representatives of the organisation were felicitated with ceremonial scarves. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by newly elected President Ajay Khandelwal, who assured traders of inclusive leadership and collective participation. Proceedings of the meeting were conducted by newly elected General Secretary Dharmveer Agrawal.

Several traders from the Ghiya Mandi area, including Sanjay Agrawal, Saurabh Bansal, Anoop Agrawal, Rajkumar Gupta, Rajesh Gupta, Amit Agrawal, Kanhaiya Lal Agrawal, Vijay Bansal, Yash Saraf, Upendra Chaturvedi and many others, were present along with hundreds of members of the local business community.
