Thakur Meghshyam Singh has been actively involved in public service for several years. In the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, he contested from the Govardhan Assembly constituency as the BJP candidate and was elected to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

According to the official election results, he defeated his nearest rival, Raj Kumar Rawat of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), by a margin of 42,507 votes. Since becoming MLA, he has participated in public programmes related to infrastructure, agriculture, religious tourism, and civic development within the Govardhan constituency.

As per the election affidavit submitted during the 2022 Assembly election, Thakur Meghshyam Singh declared assets worth approximately ₹7.96 crore. The affidavit also stated that no liabilities were declared at the time of filing.
