Mathura, November 1, 2026: Mathura traffic police are set to launch a month-long special campaign starting November 2, Monday, aimed at improving the city’s traffic management and curbing road accidents. The department has intensified its preparations for this initiative, which will focus on both public awareness and strict enforcement of traffic regulations.

As part of the lead-up to the campaign, police conducted a targeted checking operation near the Bhuteshwar intersection on Saturday. During this exercise, officers issued fines to motorists found violating basic safety norms, specifically those riding two-wheelers without helmets and those driving four-wheelers without seat belts. Police personnel on site used the opportunity to advise drivers on the importance of adhering to road safety rules, emphasizing the life-saving necessity of helmets and seat belts.

Traffic Sub-Inspector Shaurya Kumar noted that the month-long drive is designed to streamline traffic flow across the district and reduce the frequency of road accidents. The campaign is scheduled to be officially inaugurated at the Railway Ground in Dhauli Pyau.

Throughout the duration of the campaign, authorities plan to hold various awareness programs at multiple locations across the city. Alongside these educational efforts, the police have indicated that strict action will be taken against any motorists who continue to ignore traffic laws. The recent enforcement actions near the Bhuteshwar intersection served as a precursor to these upcoming efforts, leaving motorists in the area alert to the police’s heightened focus on road safety.
