Villagers in Karhela Struggle with Severely Damaged Road Conditions Amid Monsoon Season

Mathura, August 27, 2026: Residents of Karhela village, located within the Chhata tehsil area, have expressed significant frustration over the deteriorating state of their local road. The ongoing poor condition of the route has been exacerbated by the current monsoon season, causing severe hardships for those who rely on it for daily travel.

The villagers allege that the road construction project has been stalled for a considerable period due to interference from a dominant individual in the area. This obstruction has left the path in a state of disrepair, and the recent rains have turned it into a site of deep mud and persistent waterlogging, making passage increasingly difficult.

According to local residents, the most immediate impact of the neglected road is felt by schoolchildren. Pupils are frequently forced to navigate through muddy water to reach their schools, often arriving with soiled clothing and facing the constant risk of slipping and falling. Furthermore, there is growing concern among the community regarding the potential for disease outbreaks caused by the accumulation of filth and stagnant water in the area.

The road serves as a critical artery for the village, used not only for daily commuting but also for accessing essential services, attending weddings, and participating in religious ceremonies. Villagers report that the situation becomes significantly more precarious during rainy weather. Despite bringing these concerns to the attention of relevant local representatives and officials multiple times, the community states that no permanent solution has been provided to address the issues.

A group of residents, including Kalyan Singh, Babu, Bijendra, Rajendra, Mohan, Sundar, Girdhari, Ramkishan, Ajay Singh, Bachchu, Kanjar Bhajji Wali, and Dauji, have issued an urgent plea to the administration, requesting immediate intervention to resolve the matter.

The villagers have voiced their disappointment, noting that the reality of the road conditions in Karhela stands in stark contrast to government claims regarding rural development. The residents expressed hope that the administration will take prompt action to address this long-standing grievance, which would provide much-needed relief during the remainder of the rainy season.
