JDO Vinod Kumar Mishra received a commendation from Mathura SSP for his significant contributions in anti-crime enforcement and asset seizure.

Vrindavan, September 16, 2026: In a formal ceremony held on September 15, 2026, the District administration and local police force recognized the distinguished service of Mr. Vinod Kumar Mishra, serving as the District Prosecution Officer (JDO) in Mathura. The event, held at the Pundarikaksh Auditorium located within the Vrindavan Tourism Police Station, saw the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Mathura confer a commendation certificate upon Mr. Mishra. This recognition serves as a testament to his high level of professional dedication and commitment toward maintaining law and order within the district during the month of July 2026.
Extensive Legal Enforcement and Asset Seizure
According to an official social media post by the Mathura Police, the commendation was awarded in response to a series of high-impact legal actions successfully navigated by Mr. Mishra. Central to his recent achievements was the complex process involving the seizure of moveable and immoveable assets totaling approximately 37.20 crore rupees. These seizures were executed under the strict provisions of Section 14 (1) of the Gangsters Act, demonstrating a significant effort to dismantle the financial foundations of criminal syndicates operating within the region. Such rigorous legal work is part of an ongoing administrative strategy to deter organized crime by striking at its economic roots.
Deterrence and Judicial Convictions
Beyond asset recovery, the recognition highlighted Mr. Mishra’s active role in several critical legal arenas, including the National Security Act (NSA) of 1980 and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Under the National Security Act, he was instrumental in the detention of various suspects linked to serious offenses, such as robbery, dacoity, and crimes against women. These efforts are viewed as vital to public safety, ensuring that individuals deemed a threat to social harmony are effectively neutralized. Furthermore, his office achieved a notable legal success under the NDPS Act, securing a significant court verdict that resulted in a 10-year imprisonment sentence and a financial penalty of 1 lakh rupees for an accused individual, reinforcing the district’s commitment to combating the drug trade.

Strengthening Public Security Measures
The administrative actions supported by Mr. Mishra extended to the enforcement of the Uttar Pradesh Control of Goondas Act, 1970. Under Section 3(1) of this legislation, he contributed to the successful initiation of district banishment proceedings against 08 individuals, effectively restricting their presence in areas where they were deemed likely to disrupt the public order. Additionally, his contributions included the formal monitoring and restriction of 24 other suspects, ensuring they remain under consistent observation by local law enforcement. These preventive measures are designed to preemptively manage potential threats before they escalate into criminal activities.
This formal recognition reflects the collaborative effort between the Mathura district police and the prosecution department to enforce the law with thoroughness and integrity. By honoring Mr. Mishra for his commitment, the administration aims to emphasize the importance of diligent legal preparation in securing successful outcomes in the court of law. Such administrative and judicial outcomes serve not only as a deterrent to potential offenders but also as a mechanism for building community trust in the legal and police frameworks of the Braj region. The event underscored the necessity of expert legal oversight in managing high-stakes, multi-faceted criminal cases that impact the stability of local communities.
