Mathura Police Verify 8,791 Criminals in District-Wide Special Drive

Mathura: In a major district-wide exercise aimed at strengthening crime control and maintaining law and order, Mathura Police have physically verified 8,791 identified criminals under a special campaign launched on the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar.

The verification drive was carried out by police teams across all police station jurisdictions using the Yaksha App, enabling officers to conduct on-site physical verification and update records regarding the current status and activities of identified offenders.

Kotwali Recorded the Highest Number of Verified Criminals

According to an official press note issued by Mathura Police, the highest number of verified offenders was reported in the Kotwali Police Station area, where 949 criminals were physically verified during the campaign.

Yaksha App Used for Physical Verification

Police teams visited the registered locations of identified offenders and carried out physical verification using the Yaksha App. The technology-enabled exercise is intended to improve the accuracy of police records while allowing authorities to monitor the whereabouts and activities of known offenders more effectively.

Campaign Continues Across the District

Mathura Police stated that the verification drive is still underway. Police stations have been instructed to continue verifying the remaining identified offenders at an accelerated pace until the exercise is completed.

The primary objective of the campaign is to maintain updated records of habitual offenders, strengthen preventive policing and support law-and-order management across the district.

Official Statement

According to the official press release, the special verification campaign has been launched under the directions of SSP Shlok Kumar and will continue until all identified offenders in the district are physically verified. Police officials said the initiative is intended to keep close watch on criminal activities and help ensure public safety in Mathura.
