Vrindavan Police Arrest One Suspect in Attempted Murder Case

Vrindavan, September 10, 2026: Vrindavan police have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with a violent assault case, officially registering him as a suspect in an attempted murder investigation. According to police reports released on September 9, 2026, the suspect was apprehended with the weapon allegedly used during the incident. The arrest marks a significant development in the investigation of Case Number 600/26, which was filed at the Vrindavan Police Station following reports of a group-led attack.

The suspect has been identified as Gaurav, alias Kalla, the son of Shivram, a resident of Rangji ka Nagla, Radhaniwas, under the jurisdiction of the Vrindavan Police Station in Mathura district. Local authorities confirmed that the arrest took place on September 9, 2026, at approximately 1:05 PM. Acting on credible information provided by an informant, a police team tracked the suspect to an empty ground located near the old railway station in Vrindavan, where he was successfully taken into custody.

During the operation, police recovered a wooden club, or ‘danda’, which has been identified as the weapon utilized in the commission of the crime. The suspect is currently facing charges under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including 191(2), 115(2), 351(3), 109(1), 352, and 3(5), which relate to rioting, attempted murder, assault, and criminal intimidation.

The initial complaint, filed on September 8, 2026, detailed a harrowing event in which a group of individuals allegedly acted with a unified criminal intent. The victim reported that seven individuals, identified in the complaint as Nirdosh, Kanha, Sohib, Gagan, Ajay, Parikshit, and Gaurav, surrounded them with the explicit intent to cause death. The complaint states that the assailants utilized wooden sticks, physical force, and a sharp-edged weapon to carry out the brutal assault. The successful operation was conducted by a dedicated police team led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Vrindavan, Ashwani Kumar.
