Mathura, October 10, 2026: On October 10, 2026, the Sri Ramlila Sabha organized a dramatic performance of the Dhanush Yagya and the intense dialogue between Parshuram and Laxman at the Sri Krishna Janmasthan Leela Manch in Mathura. The event drew a significant audience, capturing the pivotal moments of the Ramayana through traditional theatrical storytelling.

The narrative commenced with Lord Ram and Laxman arriving in Janakpur accompanied by Sage Vishwamitra to attend the Swayamvar. The stage was set with kings and princes from various regions, each boasting of their valor and lineage. King Janak welcomed the guests, offering seats to the divine brothers and the sage. The dramatic tension escalated with the arrival of Banasur and the king of Lanka, Ravan. Ravan expressed his fury at being omitted from the invitation list, viewing it as an affront to his status. He demanded that the bow of Lord Shiva and Princess Janaki be presented to him, threatening to break the bow and claim Janaki by force.

Following an intense exchange between Banasur and Ravan, the villainous king returned to Lanka after hearing an Akashvani. Subsequently, Janaki made her entrance, worshipped the bow, and took her place on the throne. The drama shifted as the gathered monarchs and warriors failed in their attempts to break the divine bow, leading King Janak to lament that the earth had become devoid of heroes. This remark ignited the anger of Laxman, who stood up in defense of his brother’s honor.

The climax of the performance unfolded as Lord Ram sought permission from Sage Vishwamitra to attempt the feat, ultimately breaking the bow with ease. As the sound of the shattering bow resonated, the heavens rained flowers, and Janaki placed the varmala upon Lord Ram. The scene then turned to the arrival of Sage Parshuram, who, upon learning of the broken Shiva-bow, stormed into the assembly in a rage. He demanded to know the identity of the person responsible for the destruction. Laxman confronted the sage, leading to a prolonged and heated dialogue between the two. Lord Ram eventually intervened, calming Laxman and humbly acknowledging that he was the one who broke the bow, offering himself for any punishment the sage deemed fit. Upon witnessing the divine footprints on Lord Ram’s chest, Parshuram realized the true identity of the Lord, fell at his feet, and sought forgiveness.

The event concluded with the distribution of prasad, a service facilitated by Vice-Chairman Nandkishore Agarwal, along with Puneet Agarwal and Hemang Agarwal of Shankar Steel.
