Mathura, October 11, 2026: The city of Lord Shri Krishna will look steeped in Ram today. The grand Ram Barat of Lord Shri Ram is to be taken out today, October 11, and preparations are going on in full swing. Moolchand Garg, Pradhan Mantri of the Ramlila Sabha committee, gave this information. The 21-day Ramlila Mahotsav, held every year under the Ramlila Sabha, began on October 3.

Bands, Akharas and Attractions

Garg said that bands of world renown from various places have been included in the Ram Barat this time as a special attraction. The akharas will be a grand sight, and several important akharas are taking part. The world-class Shyam Band of Jabalpur is coming, along with a band from Gwalior and bands from other places. Speaking about the grandeur of the Barat, Garg said that more than 60 tableaux have been included this time. Seven to eight akharas, about 10 bands and three to four road shows will be part of the Barat. In all, there will be roughly 90 to 100 attractions, which will be seen from Mathura as well as from outside.

Janakpuri at Bharatpur Gate

A grand Janakpuri is being built at Bharatpur Gate, where artisans from Kolkata have been decorating a world-class pandal continuously for the past week. The wedding ceremony of Shri Ram and Janaki ji will take place in this pandal.

For the first time, the entire market is being decorated like a bride, and welcome arrangements have been made at various places. The Suresh Chand Agrawal Memorial Trust is also making a special contribution to the Ramlila Sabha this time. Garg has respectfully appealed to all devout people to take part in this grand event, share in the punya, and encourage the Ramlila Sabha and everyone.

Timing and Route

Speaking about the programme, Garg said the Barat will leave at 6:00 PM this evening from Bati Wali Kunj. Thakur ji will be seated there with Vishwamitra ji and Dasharath ji, and the entire Barat will move ahead from there after their viewing of it. At the end of the Barat, everyone will proceed on horses and chariots, in full finery.

The Barat will start from Bati Wali Kunj, Vrindavan Darwaza and reach Bharatpur Gate via Chowk Bazaar, Swami Ghat, Chhatta Bazaar, Holi Gate and Kotwali Road. The wedding ceremony will be held at the grand Janakpuri built at Bharatpur Gate.

After that, bidding farewell to Janaki ji, the Barat will ride in a chariot via Ghiya Mandi, Chowk Bazaar, Mandi Ramdas and Deeg Gate to reach Shri Krishna Janmasthan. A grand aarti of everyone, including Janaki ji, will be held at the Janmasthan, and the whole event will last until about 5:00 AM.

Tight security arrangements have been made in full for the event, so that people coming to watch the Barat of Lord Shri Ram face no difficulty of any kind.
