Mathura, October 18, 2026: The Ramlila Sabha organized the performance of key episodes from the Ramayana, including the Vibhishana Sharanagati, the dialogue between Angad and Ravana, and the Laxman Shakti Leela. These performances took place during the day at the Ramlila Maidan and continued into the evening at the Chitrakoot Leela Manch.

The narrative featured Shri Ram and his army camping by the seashore. After Ravana expelled his brother Vibhishana from his court for advising against conflict with Shri Ram, Vibhishana sought refuge at the feet of Shri Ram. Despite concerns raised by Sugriva regarding Vibhishana’s intentions, Shri Ram embraced him and performed his symbolic coronation using sea water. Following this, Shri Ram sat by the ocean to request a path. During this sequence, two spies sent by Ravana, named Suka and Saran, were identified. Laxman pardoned them but provided a message for Ravana, warning that his end was near if he did not return Janaki Ji.

After waiting for three days without receiving a path, Shri Ram prepared to dry the ocean using his divine bow and an Agni-baan. The ocean deity appeared, sought forgiveness, and provided guidance for crossing. Subsequently, Shri Ram performed the installation of Rameshwar. On the advice of Jamwant, Shri Ram dispatched Bali’s son, Angad, as a messenger to Lanka, leading to a dialogue between Angad and Ravana.

The play depicted the advancement of the army toward Lanka. The Vanar army faced challenges from Ravana’s son, Meghnad, who was eventually struck down by Hanuman. Meghnad later returned to the battlefield, employing illusionary powers that were countered by Shri Ram’s arrows. In a subsequent encounter, Laxman engaged Meghnad in a fierce battle. Meghnad utilized his Yamapash Shakti, which left Laxman unconscious. Hanuman was then sent to procure the Sanjeevani Booti. On his return, he met Bharat in Nandigram and informed him of the developments. Upon the successful treatment of Laxman, joy spread throughout the Rama army.

The prasad service for the event was provided by Bishan Chand Rajkumar Sutia. The performance involved contributions from several individuals, including Gopeshwarnath Chaturvedi, Jayanti Prasad Agarwal, Jugal Kishore Agrawal, Nandkishore Agarwal, Moolchand Garg, Pradeep Kumar Saraf P.K., Vijay Kirodi, Shailesh Agarwal Saraf, Ajay Master, Pt. Amit Bhardwaj, Umesh Bijli, Kisso Sharma, Vishnu Sharma, and Ramgopal Sharma.

The organizers have announced that the Kumbhakaran Vadh, Meghnad Vadh, and the Sulochana Sati Leela are scheduled for October 19. These performances will be held from 4 PM to 6 PM at the Ramlila Maidan and again at 7 PM at the Chitrakoot Leela Manch in Masani.
